“Every unit of energy generated from alternative sources displaces a similar amount generated by traditional means”, meaning that as green jobs rise, regular energy jobs will fall. Green energy is also more expensive, which will have a negative effect on the economy.
The biggest investment in green energy has gone towards corn-based ethanol, which is bad for the environment (because cutting all that corn decimates habitats, and the burning of the resultant ethanol will increase smog).
